Although there are many issues women face in Iran, the covering up of women is one of the physical symbols of the oppression many women constantly face, as it is no longer a choice. I used that to symbolise how trapped and claustrobic is can feel for a woman in Iran, both physically and mentally.

I used the locations of the endless sea and desert and mountains to portray the freedom they are aware of potentially having, juxtaposing the physical barrier the chador produces.

For the desert pictures, I also placed a fish in a bowl to show that while the fish can swim in its bowl, it too is trapped when surrounded by a dry endless desert. Both are forced in to situation that they would never wish for otherwise.
